Cara Yano is a physical therapist and clinic director who specializes in orthopedic injuries by utilizing her skills in manual therapy and biomechanical evaluation. Cara is certified in trigger point dry needling, mat Pilates, and has recently received her Orthopedic Specialty Certification. Cara is pursuing a certification in manual therapy through the Maitland approach.

Cara uses her broad experience base to treat a variety of orthopedic injuries and conditions. She is very manual therapy oriented, using a variety of techniques including Maitland, Mulligan, Paris, and the Institute of Physical Art. Cara stays current on the recent literature and new techniques in physical therapy allowing her to treat her patients effectively and with the most cutting edge information. She is passionate about her career and enjoys attending continuing education classes to allow further growth in her clinical skills.

Cara obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Psychology with an emphasis in Neuroscience from the University of Delaware graduating cum laude in 1998. Her education continued at the University of Delaware where she graduated with a Masters degree in Physical Therapy in 2000. While at the University of Delaware, Cara spent four years working in the Physical Therapy research department where she completed and published several studies involving the use of electrical stimulation to enhance and assist in muscle contraction for the use in patients with spinal cord injuries.

Upon graduation from the University of Delaware, Cara began her career at Progressive Sports Medicine where she became clinic manager. In 2004, she left Progressive Sports Medicine to manage a clinic for another outpatient orthopedic group, Benchmark Physical Therapy. She joined the Atlanta Sports Medicine team in the winter of 2004.

Cara grew up in Delaware, and moved to Atlanta in 2000 following graduation from PT school. She lives in Atlanta with her husband Craig, son Luke, daughter Sophie and lab Dooley. She enjoys running, Pilates, hiking, and spending time with her family in her free time.
